TransNet Land Management Grant Program

In 2004, as part of the TransNet Environmental Mitigation Program (EMP), SANDAG made a 25-year commitment to allocate $4 million annually to support environmental efforts including management and monitoring activities and land management grants. The Land Management Grant program allocates a portion of these TransNet funds through a competitive process to nonprofit organizations, local jurisdictions, and other government agencies who help maintain the region’s biological integrity and avoid the future listing of species as endangered.

Since 2006, 137 land management grants totaling approximately $18.8 million in TransNet funding have been awarded to land management entities in the region.
