Social Services Transportation Advisory Council

The Social Services Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC) oversees work on federal and state requirements and local concerns regarding transportation accessibility issues for older adults and people with disabilities. The SSTAC reports to the Transportation Committee, which in turn reports to the SANDAG Board of Directors.  

SSTAC membership applications are now open through July 24, 2026, to fill the following seats: 

Individual member seats

  • Representative of potential transit users who is a senior, 60 years or older
  • Representative of potential transit users who is disabled
  • At-large representative of the interests of seniors, persons with limited means, or disabled transportation users who are familiar with the ADA and Title 24 regulations

Agency member seat (identify primary and alternate representatives)

  • Social Service Provider for Seniors

SSTAC meetings are generally quarterly. At least once a year, the council holds a public hearing to solicit input on transportation needs from older individuals, persons with disabilities, and persons with limited means, in accordance with the California Public Utilities Code. The next public hearing will be at the June 23, 2026, 10 a.m. SSTAC meeting. Members of the public are invited to provide testimony at this or any future meeting of the SSTAC.

Members of the public who are not able to participate in the public hearing are encouraged to provide testimony using this online comment card by 8 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. You may also leave a voicemail at 619.699.7313. These comments will be read by SANDAG staff during the meeting and documented along with all other comments received.
