California Clean Air Day
Every year on the first Wednesday of October, the Coalition for Clean Air hosts California Clean Air Day to reduce air pollution. The statewide annual event is built on the idea that shared experiences unite people to take action and create new habits to improve air quality. This year, Clean Air Day is on Wednesday, October 1!
At SANDAG, we encourage the entire San Diego region to take the pledge and get moving for clean air by walking, biking, carpooling, or riding transit on Clean Air Day. By replacing even one solo trip in a car, you can make a difference for cleaner air.
Why Pledge to Clean the Air? The San Diego region deserves better!
- People in the San Diego region travel more vehicle miles annually per commuter than the state average and other major urban counties.
- The San Diego region ranks 8th worst in the nation for ozone pollution.
Individuals: This year, eligible residents within the San Diego region will be automatically entered for the chance to win a RadExpand™ 5 Plus Electric Folding Bike, powered by Rad Power Bikes. When you pledge, make sure to check the box to receive communications from trusted partners in order to be notified! Rad Power Bikes will coordinate prize redemption with the winner. Organizations: Get your coworkers and employees moving for Clean Air Day by pledging for your organization. Organizations with the highest rates of employees that take the pledge have the opportunity to be recognized within their industry. Our team provides you with a toolkit of materials to make it easy to encourage employee participation.
