SANDAG is partnering with Caltrans, the City of San Diego, MTS, and NCTD to identify transit improvements that can be implemented quickly to improve the commute for people riding transit, walking, and biking. These “tactical urbanism” efforts can create long-term change through low-cost solutions.
We already know of many low-cost, high-impact tools that make transit run faster and stay on time so people can get around without a car. On the Move will identify the most viable projects and assess how they can improve key areas in the San Diego region.
This study will:
- Keep buses on time by addressing transit delay hot spots
- Improve safety and accessibility near transit for disadvantaged communities and those with mobility challenges
- Find quick build case studies to recommend for future investments
This project will maximize SANDAG’s regional partnerships and identify priority corridors that serve historically underserved, underrepresented, or under-resourced communities that will benefit from near-term investments to support regional connectivity.
On the Move is funded through a Caltrans Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant.
