Regional Electric Vehicle Charger Management Strategy

Supporting Public EV Charging Infrastructure

In 2020, SANDAG and the North County Transit District (NCTD) were awarded a Caltrans Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant to research and develop a Regional Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Management Strategy to support the reliable operation and expansion of public EV charger infrastructure. The strategy supports long-term public EV charger functionality by providing a resource for local jurisdictions to help them streamline their methods of public EV charger management and maintenance.

This project was completed in March 2023. It resulted in the Regional Public Charger Operations and Management Strategy along with several other reports and resources for public agencies interested in expanding EV charging infrastructure.
