Caltrans and SANDAG developed a Comprehensive Multimodal Corridor Plan (CMCP) for the Central Mobility Hub project. This CMCP outlines possible strategies for a Central Mobility Hub in downtown San Diego, with transit connections to the San Diego International Airport.

The study area for this CMCP encompassed several neighborhoods and transportation service areas, including:

• The Midway District, Old Town, Point Loma, and Downtown San Diego
• I-5, I-8, and Pacific Highway
• The COASTER, the Trolley, and multiple Rapid and local bus lines

The project team collected community and stakeholder feedback via public meetings and the project’s virtual engagement hub. The CMCP will serve as a guiding document that will lead and inform future decisions for the CMH and the multimodal transportation system throughout the study area.
