Regional Collaboration

At SANDAG, we’re committed to working with our partners to bridge the digital divide in the San Diego region.

Digital Divide Taskforce

The Regional Digital Divide Taskforce has made great strides reducing barriers in internet connectivity since its creation in 2021. The Digital Divide Taskforce is made up of representatives from public agencies, broadband providers, and non-profit organizations who initially collaborated in developing the Regional Digital Equity Strategy and Action Plan, a regional framework and guiding principles that seek to improve broadband connection across the San Diego region.

Today, the Regional Digital Divide Taskforce meets quarterly to provide guidance and discuss opportunities for collaboration.

Regional Digital Infrastructure Taskforce (ReDIT)

SANDAG's Regional Digital Infrastructure Taskforce (ReDIT) consists of staff involved in broadband infrastructure permitting, service development, and engineering. Local jurisdictions, tribes, and transportation agencies meet monthly and work together to develop standard practices that accelerate the deployment of digital communications infrastructure. Having the right infrastructure in place will be critical to advance intelligent transportation solutions, design smart cities, and provide fast and affordable internet service in underserved areas.

The ReDIT taskforce meets monthly on the last Thursday of every month. For current meeting information and to attend, please contact michael.terlep@sandag.org.
